IFRD Welcomes Mohamed Salem as Syria Coordinator

IFRD Welcomes Mohamed Salem as Syria Coordinator
We are proud to announce that Mohamed Salem has joined the IFRD team as our new Syria Coordinator.
With over eight years of experience in humanitarian program and grant management at Freedom House, Mohamed brings exceptional depth to our work in Syria and the broader MENA region. His appointment marks a significant step in IFRD’s commitment to sustained, field-informed advocacy and relief coordination.
Fluent in both Arabic and English, Mohamed combines strategic analytical skills with direct fieldwork experience, a rare combination that will strengthen our capacity to serve vulnerable populations in complex crises.

We are honoured to have him with us. His experience managing high-risk environments, overseeing international grant portfolios, and documenting the experiences of displaced communities will be invaluable as we deepen our engagement in Syria. Beyond his professional work, Mohamed’s interest in ethnic music as a vehicle for cultural identity and cross-community dialogue reflects the values at the heart of our organization, that humanitarian work is, above all, a human endeavour.
