Strasbourg, 9 July 2026 — We regret to cease our operations in the European Parliament yesterday. We have been harassed by the UAE ambassador and his attache inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg. He followed us into meetings, public spaces, and even the corridors of the EP building.
His smiles and too close contact, passing by, taking pictures and videos, have been a threat to the safety of Sudanese victims who came to the building.
We regret to see a diplomat acting in such a capacity. We are also sad to see the incapacity of the prestigiousness of the building of the European Parliament to prevent such an act.
We express concern for the safety of the loved ones of the Sudanese victims that we accompanied to the building, and we hold the UAE ambassador accountable for any harm that may happen to them.
